"Elizabeth Lord...

My Life as a Writer

Elizabeth Lord writes family sagas, most of them until lately set in the East End of London where she was born. Twice widowed, she now lives in Essex and has three married children. Elizabeth is a member of the Romantic Novelists Association (RNA), the Society of Women Writes & Journalists (SWWJ) and the Society of Authors. She runs a Writer’s Group based in Essex and has seen some of her members become published and has many more prodigies in her group right now. Elizabeth was at one time a professional tutor, holding regular classes in creative writing, but tends to teach less now as her own writing demands so much of her time.

As well as family sagas, Elizabeth has also written a large number of historical novels including: Company of Rebels – an intricate drama that delves into the details of the Peasant’s Revolt of 1381, and Shadow of the Protector and Fortunes Daughter containing a fascinating insight into the family of Oliver Cromwell.

Elizabeth Lord’s professional writing started with short stories published in various magazines during the 1970’s and 1980’s. She then turned to novels and achieved success with her first published work in 1991. She has now been published 23 times with books selling worldwide. Her latest novel, The Chandelier Ballroom, a tale of haunting with dire consequences is her first book to be published in electronic format, available on Amazon for Kindle. [A trilogy: Butterfly Summers, Autumn Skies and Winter Wine which span three generation of a family of a large and famous restaurant in London’s West End, is due out for Kindle very soon].
